Hamlet Balleza started his career in CaseStack as Client Development Manager (CDM) 2 years ago. He specializes in the Latino market. He loves spending time with his children during his spare time. Here is an excerpt of our conversation:

Hamlet.JPGMelisa Giovani (MG): Good afternoon, Hamlet! So, can you tell me how it’s been being a Business Development Manager (BDM) in CaseStack for the past 4 months?

Hamlet Balleza (HB): It is a learning experience. One challenge is finding new prospects. These potential clients generally like CaseStack’s delivering solution idea. However, it gets a little tough when it comes to analyzing our business to be integrated to their business. After all, why fix it if it ain’t broke? I have to say that the challenge is fun because I have the opportunity to talk to people in different management levels of the company. By earning their perspectives, I could try to envisage what service model would suit best for them.

MG: Any thoughts on your new cubicle?

HB: It is actually my old space before I was moved to a cubicle next to the window. To be honest, I am not attached to specific work area. Location does not matter to me. The enclosed cube, attached by other cubes, gives me a sense of unity. It also gives me the impression that I should be more productive, which is good. Busy is good!

MG: Tell me about a traveling destination that you would like to go someday?

HB: Morocco, West Africa! It is close enough to Europe. It has such an enriched culture that it would be a nice adventure. I would also love to see how they negotiate. I heard they do negotiations everywhere…bazaars, stores, everywhere. Isn’t life all about negotiations anyway?

MG: Cool! Last but not least, could you tell me how the Green Business Certificate that CaseStack received in February has impacted you?

HB: It has certainly raised my awareness about being environmentally-friendly. I learned to do my part for this green operation. It has become a habit for me to turn off the lights before I leave and dispose papers in the recycle box.

MG: Thanks a lot, Hamlet! Your thoughts are definitely appreciated!

The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.
