Going for The 2nd Generation of I-Phone This Summer?

By Mark Azali                                                                      A go or no go? Dying from the heat.

iPhoneSmall.jpgI am among the few. I do NOT get excited about Apple products. At the same time, I do not participate in forum arguments about why their products are great or bad. You might say that my frustrations with their business models are passive aggressive. So when the current iPhone came out, I immediately drew criticisms towards some of its obvious shortcomings and discouraged others to buy it, and in some cases change their mobile carrier to the notoriously coverage lacking AT&T. “Don’t give into the hype!” I shouted.

While the iPhone has been updated with numerous firmware revisions since its initial release, gaining more of my interest/praise, it still has a critical hardware limitation that many speculate will be the strongest selling point of the next generation model: 3G data connectivity.

Still though, I see 3G data connectivity as a superficial feature. I would be more thrilled to see what offerings may come from Google’s Android mobile platform. My appreciation for Google’s contributions to the world outweighs Apple’s without a doubt. Though they may lack the style/marketing appeal of Apple, I imagine any mobile phone offered/branded by Google would more closely match my needs than anything Apple could ever offer. While Google even provides applications for the iPhone, I ask the simple question, why go through Apple when I can go directly to the source.
