CaseStack has partnered with Eco-LOGICAL Communities, a University of Arkansas outreach program that promotes energy efficiency, resource conservation and waste reduction.

Eco-LOGICAL Communities is a free web-based service that allows individuals to synchronize their utility bills to the site, view the amount of energy they consume and access tips to reduce consumption. As an incentive, reduced usage earns the user points that can be used at area businesses. Each user can see how his or her utility bills relate to the city, state and national average. The site also helps users track the number of miles they drive.

To partner with the program, CaseStack employees formed a group that allows them to compare utility bills and work together to collectively reduce their energy consumption throughout the next year. The company represents the first private business to join the program, managed by the university’s Applied Sustainability Center.

Dan Sanker, CaseStack’s president and CEO, said the partnership with Eco-LOGICAL Communities takes the company’s mission to reduce its customers’ carbon emissions and parlays it into a personal and collective corporate effort that extends outside the office.

“This is a perfect example of how individual changes lead to greater savings,” Sanker said. “Before we joined the program, no one knew whether they were using more than the average amount of water and air conditioning or whether they were paying more than their neighbors. Now, not only do we know if our bills are high, but we have the tools to lower our energy consumption and reduce our carbon footprint together.”

Michele Halsell, managing director of the Applied Sustainability Center, said CaseStack has a strong sustainability track record, calling CaseStack, “serious about monitoring their own impact.”

“We are grateful for CaseStack’s leadership as the first corporation to participate in Eco-LOGICAL Communities,” Halsell said. “They are among the first GreeNWAy certified businesses, and now they have taken the next step by encouraging their associates to take sustainability home and enjoy lower energy bills as a result.”
