Employee Trip Reduction Plan Reaches Halfway Mark
CaseStack Employee Trip Reduction Plan
On Friday, Aug 22, CaseStack’s Employee Trip Reduction Plan reached its halfway mark. From its start on July 1, the program accounts for 277 alternate mode of transportation trips, which is about two trips per participant (“one trip” is equivalent to one way traveled). Certified Employee Transportation Coordinator, Chelley Hernandez reports the program “is working” well, and CaseStack employees are saving money by spending less on gas.
For the past 50 days, employees participating in this dynamic program have either walked, rode a bike, train, bus or carpooled to the CaseStack office. They travel from Venice Beach, Santa Monica and even as far as Long Beach, Calif.
To enhance the Employee Trip Reduction Plan, CaseStack is offering several practical incentives.
The “Parking Cash Out” Program is one of the most beneficial aspects of the reduction plan. CaseStack currently pays $116 per month for each employee’s parking space. If you use an alternate mode of transportation, there is no need for to pay for your parking spot, and thus you will receive an extra $116 a month, in addition to your normal salary. Five employees have already begun taking advantage of this offer and are completely satisfied with their decision. To find out more information and guidelines about the “Parking Cash Out” program, please visit the Rideshare Wall outside of Chelley’s office.
If your alternate mode of transportation becomes inoperable, such as a broken bike, flat tire or your ride abandons you, Metro’s “Guaranteed Ride Home” program will be there to help you. Metro offers you four FREE rides to those facing an unfortunate circumstance.
In addition, the more trips you take, the greater your efforts will be rewarded. Based on the number of trips taken, you will be automatically entered into several different drawings for a $100 Best Buy gift card, $75 grocery store gift card, and a $25 iTunes or Starbucks gift card.
CaseStack values sustainability and encourages employees to advance sustainability and green efforts in all areas of life. The Employee Trip Reduction Plan is a major internal initiative to help decrease the consumption of oil and facilitate the creation of a cleaner, healthier living environment.
It’s not too late to join in the Employee Trip Reduction Plan. To participate, employees must log their trips each week and turn their log in sheet into HR weekly – forms are available on the Rideshare Wall outside of Chelley’s office. Don’t wait, start saving money and energy as soon as possible.
