CaseStack Announces 2010 Delivered Green and Green Carrier Award Winners
CaseStack congratulated today the winners of the 2010 Delivered Green and Green Carrier Awards.
CaseStack recognized more than four dozen customers and carriers this year. The program, which began in 2008, is designed as a two-prong effort, recognizing both customers and carriers committed to efficient transportation methods. The Delivered Green Awards recognize CaseStack’s transportation and logistics customers, and run in tandem with the Green Carrier Awards that honor CaseStack carriers for employing sustainability best practices.
To qualify for the Delivered Green award, customers must ship more than 40 percent of their orders in a given calendar year using carriers named on the Green Carrier Matrix, a listing of CaseStack’s most sustainable carrier partners. Sixteen of the Delivered Green winners also won in 2009, and all of them operate in the food and beverage, household cleaning and general merchandise categories.
The Green Carriers Program acknowledges carriers who employ sustainable and energy efficient supply chain management practices in their daily business operations by listing them on the Green Carrier Matrix. Carriers are selected based upon their adoption of “green” practices, including engine, tire and body modifications, the use of alternative fuels and government and industry certifications like the U.S. EPA’s SmartWay℠ Transport Partnership. Those who qualify are placed on the matrix and touted as a resource for CaseStack customers looking to reduce their carbon footprint.
