Domestic Trucking Capacity Increases – Colby Beland with Talk Business & Politics
This week Colby Beland, VP of Sales and Marketing at CaseStack, sits down with Talk Business & Politics to discuss domestic trucking capacity increases and the inflation pressures happening to the transportation industry.
Rates are expected to continuously rise through 2019. Beland explains the effects of the added costs on retailers and shippers.
“It will trickle down to the consumer in the form of higher retail prices,” he said. “I don’t know when or how much, but inflationary pricing is a real possibility.” – Talk Business & Politics
He goes on to explain different markets and geopolitical concerns contributing to the shortages, as well as different ways we will see inflationary pricing happening as capacity stays tight.
Also in this story we hear from John Kent, director of the Supply Chain Research Management Center in the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas. We hear from Kent as he discusses the increasing price of the truckload industry and its impact on consumers.
